About Me

Hi! I’m Jacob, and I’m glad you’re here to learn about me and the work I’ve done as a designer. Much of this portfolio was built during the end of my time at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management. During school, I’ve had engineering internships with a variety of different Nebraska companies. Though I am primarily geared toward the development and engineering side of software and interfaces, I’ve created this portfolio to highlight my achievements in learning design, as I believe design is an absolutely crucial step in ensuring that users actually use the products a developer builds. My primary design values, which carry over in part from my engineering background, are simplicity and efficiency, as I believe that streamlining processes so that users don’t need to puzzle out how to use a product or an interface is extremely important, and it is one of the primary things I personally look for when I use interfaces designed by others.
